Slot cars have been around since 1912 when Lionel (USA) made its first slot cars and track, in 1915 Lionel decided to stop manufacturing the cars for the model train market. It took almost 40 years until 1954 when a British slot car club created a 60 footlong track for 1:32 scale cars, the modern collectible slot car era begun. In 1957 a U.K. based company called Minimodels introduced its first Scalextric slot cars., including Vanwall & Lotus. In 1963 Scalextric’s released its first car with working lights including a Lister Jaguar and Aston Martin. In 1967 Scalextric’s produced the sought-after James Bond Set. We are always looking to consign excellent example of slot cars.
