One of the most popular areas of Militaria Collecting is that of Military Headdress. We specialise in offering the finest selection of both ceremonial dress helmets to the combat helmets worn by the armed forces of the world, dating from the early Victorian period up until the 1960’s period.
The early English Victorian dress helmets were produced with such fine workmanship and with the quality of the helmet plates and the brightly coloured plumes which set off the pieces and show them in full glory.
With the 20th century combat helmets, examples which were produced for a short time or those issued to the British Airborne forces during WW2 seem to command the strongest prices when they are offered at auction.
With each year that passes by, the amount of good examples of Military headdress starts to decrease with many items succumbing to the pitfalls of age and the materials they were made of. However, when fine examples do come onto the market, we have proved that bidders are eager to contest for them and as such over the last few years we have bucked the trend in the market and continued to achieve very strong prices.
May it be for interior design purpose or the passion for collecting items that were worn in combat, Military Headdress continues to be a sound investment.
